ABCO started in 1921 in New London, CT. as " The Auto Battery Company". We have grown from a small provider of only oxygen & acetylene, to a multi-million dollar supplier of industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding and safety equipment. We hold a large customer base in Connecticut, Rhode Island & Massachusetts. ABCO is still owned by the same family that started it all back in 1921.

Over the years, ABCO has expanded from a single location in Waterford, Connecticut to 10 retail and distribution outlets throughout Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts: ABCO now has locations in Cheshire, Milford, Middletown, Norwich, Putnam, South Windsor, Stratford and Waterford in Connecticut; Auburn, Massachusetts and Warwick, Rhode Island.

ABCO’s cylinder pumping facility has the ability to produce both pure and mixed gases to a variety of specifications. ABCO’s modern equipment monitors each cylinder for quality and integrity in order to meet or exceed the requirements of our customers. ABCO provides Industrial, Medical and Ultra High Purity gases as well as cryogenic liquids to a large customer base throughout Southern New England. ABCO also carries a large inventory of gas regulators and control equipment for industrial, medical and pharmaceutical environments.
